Self-Help Group (SHG) Training
for Women
Empowering Women Through Skills, Solidarity, and Self-Reliance
At PGRSS, we believe that when women support each other, powerful change happens. Our Self-Help Group (SHG) Training for Women aims to strengthen rural and urban communities by helping women come together to learn, earn, and lead.
Through our SHG formation and capacity-building programs, we provide women with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to manage finances, run micro-enterprises, and collectively improve their social and economic conditions.
Our SHG Training Focuses On
- Group Formation & Governance: Helping women organize themselves into structured SHGs with leadership roles and responsibilities.
- Financial Literacy: Training on savings, inter-loaning, bookkeeping, and bank linkage procedures.
- Skill Development: Hands-on training in tailoring, food processing, handicrafts, agriculture, and other locally relevant livelihoods.
- Entrepreneurship & Marketing: Guidance on business planning, product packaging, digital marketing, and sales.
- Social Empowerment: Awareness sessions on women’s rights, health, domestic violence, and government schemes.
Why It Matters
- SHGs build economic independence and reduce reliance on informal credit.
- They promote peer learning, emotional support, and leadership.
- Women become active contributors to household income and community decision-making.
- SHGs serve as grassroots engines for larger development goals — from sanitation to child education and beyond.
